Maintaining Wisconsin’s natural “green” infrastructure is essential work, especially as many of us are spending more time home and outdoors. We believe the ecological impact of our work is critical and time-sensitive. We would not be in this field of work if we thought otherwise! However, the outbreak of COVID-19 requires us to evaluate how we operate in the context of our State and County’s response to the pandemic.
As we move forward, we will monitor local policies and guidelines from public health entities. We want to do our part to ensure company and community health while continuing to advance restoration.
Please stay safe and healthy. Thank you for your patience.
WE ARE responding by:
Keeping informed of local and State policy, and guidelines from public health entities.
Adapting our work to comply with local guidelines. Read more about Madison and Dane County Public Health's Forward Dane plan.
Prioritizing the health and safety of our crew, families, and community, including accommodating crew schedules to support personal and family health and childcare needs. We are proud to be operating at near full capacity despite these challenges.
Following physical distancing recommendations.
Providing remote work opportunities for our employees and a forum for sharing pandemic-related information.
ALTHOUGH WE’VE RESUMED MOST REGULAR SERVICES, WE CONTINUE TO PRIORITIZE WORK BASED ON:
Our ability to perform the work safely given available crew. Preference for low risk activities.
Our ability to perform work with minimal risk of exposure or spread of disease. Preference for rural/remote work.
Impacts to others in the community. Preference for rural/remote work.
Ecological impact. Preference for long-term/ongoing restorations and time-sensitive, grant-funded projects.
Distance from our shop. Preference for work close to our headquarters.
Timeliness of work. Preference for work that cannot be postponed, such as herbicide treatment and planting.
External factors beyond our control (e.g. permitting).
WE Request YOU:
Have patience as we adapt to work during the pandemic.
Please adhere to a minimum 6-foot physical distancing if meeting one of us outdoors.
Please respect our decision to not share vehicles nor meet indoors while visiting your site.
Understand our schedule is dynamic and can change quickly, based on weather, site conditions, new state and local regulations, and crew availability.
We are motivated to create a better future one restoration project at a time, and we’re grateful for work that brings us and our community closer to nature. Thank you for doing your part to make the world a better place for future generations.
