Adaptive Restoration offers seed acquisition and planting services to help you restore or establish your native prairie, savanna, wetland or oak woodland. We provide custom seed mixes specific to your site based on soil type, moisture, and light conditions. Seed mixes are designed for initial restoration establishment or for interseeding an existing restoration.
We source local ecotype seed, which is a genetically distinct genotype for your specific geographic area. We also provide NRCS-approved seed mixes designed to meet your CRP, CREP or EQIP contract requirements.
Planting your prairie is accomplished through hand seeding or with our specialized equipment that allows us to plant acres of seed mix more effectively and time efficient.
We use our Truax no-till seed drill that can be independently adjusted for specialized applications, and is designed to plant diverse seed types on a variety of site conditions. The no-till rolling disks allow for the seed to be carried into the soil for proper placement and optimal seed-to-soil contact without deep disruption of the soil ecology.
Where appropriate we also use a Landpride 3-point mounted broadcast seeder.
Please contact us to discuss how we can assist you in creating a seeding plan that meets your needs.
